While Ramleela has Deepika and Ranveer playing the lead roles, Kangana plays the protagonist in Rajjo.
Mumbai:
Ramleela, which features actors Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone, was to enjoy a solo release on November 15, but now Kangana Ranaut's Rajjo will also hit the screens on the same date.
"I was waiting for an apt time to bring the film. Even though the main character Kangana (or Rajjo) plays a mujrawali in the film, it isn't sombre or depressing by any means," Rajjo director Vishwas Patil said.
With Rajjo and Ramleela releasing on the same date, the audience will not only get a chance to see two different genres at the box office, but they will also see two actresses - Kangana and Deepika playing title roles in their respective films.
Kangana is very confident about her film and is happy that the film is releasing during the festive season.
"Rajjo is really close to my heart and I am glad it is being released this festive season. As for competition with other films, there would be one every week in any case. I am sure my producers are taking a good call and it comes from the trust and confidence they have in the product," she said.
