Los Angeles: Singer Demi Lovato will star in at least six episodes in the fifth season of musical dramedy series Glee.
The former Disney star, will play Dani, a NYC based struggling artist friend of Rachel and Santana's. She will interact with Adam Lambert's character, which is still under wraps, and the two will appear in several musical numbers together, reported Aceshowbiz.
Naya Rivera, who plays Santana, tweeted, "So excited for @ddlovato to join our cast! Wonder what we'll get up to in NYC!"
Lambert also couldn't hide his excitement to work alongside Lovato, writing on his own Twitter account, "I just heard the news! Excited to sing with you girl!"
The gig will mark Lovato's first major acting role since her Disney Channel series Sonny With a Chance ended its run in January 2011.
