New Delhi:
Tamil star Dhanush is hoping to conquer Bollywood in his first Hindi film Raanjhanaa co-starring Sonam Kapoor. And while he does admit to a language block, Dhanush says playing a North Indian romeo wasn't all that difficult.
"My Hindi will take a long time to perfect, I gave everyone a hard time," Dhanush said in New Delhi today.
"Playing a Benarasi boy was no different. Boys in Madurai are the same and, honestly, there's only one way boys know how to woo girls," the actor added.
Actress Sonam Kapoor was quick to compliment her co-star: "Dhanush is in command of his craft, I am so all over the place."
Sonam, who is soon going to play the role made famous by actress Rekha in a remake of Khoobsurat, also said that she drew inspiration for her Raanjhanaa performance from another vintage classic.
"I was inspired by Guddi," said Sonam, referring to one of Jaya Bachchan's earliest hits.
Dhanush, who is married to Tamil superstar Rajinikanth's daughter Aishwarya, has been best-known for his famous song Kolaveri Di north of the Deccan plateau till now.
Raanjhanaa, which Sonam describes as "a love story of never giving up," is all set to change that.
