Cameron Diazwas unimpressed with her character in 'Bad Teacher' initiallybut agreed to do the movie after a thorough reading of thescript.
The 38-year-old actress, who stars in the film withex-flame Justin Timberlake, admitted that a detailed readinghelped her understand the role of Elizabeth Halsey and sheeventually fell in love with it, reported Contactmusic.
"Thirty pages in, I didn't want to know her and thenby 10 pages more I was starting to get her. By the end I lovedher.
"My rule is I have to read it all the way through.It's kind of like the dress that looks terrible on a hanger,and then you try it on and it's the only dress that looks good- after you've said, 'That will never look good.'
"It was a struggle at first, then I realised howbrilliant she was," said Diaz.
The blonde beauty also felt relieved that she had toportray a character which was free from usual moralconstraints.
"It was an opportunity to play a character I didn'thave to be morally responsible for. We all have to followcertain social standards and I was able to let that go for acouple of months, leave behind all my moral qualms, then stepback out of that at the end of the day and go back to beingpart of society.
"I had to play her, I just knew I had to. There was nochoice for me," added Diaz
