Diljit Dosanjh addressed the alleged ticket scams revolving around his Indian concerts during his Dil-Luminati Tour concert in Jaipur on Sunday. The Punjabi singer-actor, who has become a global sensation in the last few months, apologised to fans who fell victims to alleged ticket scams. Addressing the audience, Diljit Dosanjh said, "If anyone has fallen victim to a ticketing scam, I apologise to that person. We have not done this. Authorities are currently investigating the matter", as quoted by India Today.
Diljit also requested fans to remain "vigilant" and "to stay away from those involved in the scam". After Diljit's successful concerts in Paris, London, Dublin, and Amsterdam, his fan following witnessed a major rise in numbers. Sharing their inability to understand the ticket-selling situation, Diljit said on stage, "Our tickets sold out so fast, even we didn't get to know."
Ahead of the concert, which took place at the Jaipur Exhibition and Convention Centre (JECC) in Sitapura area, the Jaipur Police had issued an advisory, asking people not to fall victim to fake ticket scams surrounding the event.
"SCAM ALERT!! Beware of fake tickets! Only valid tickets will be valid for entry into Diljit Dosanjh's concert. Only tickets sold by Zomato Live and Scope Entertainment are valid; all others are illegal," a post by Jaipur Police on X said. "Entry will not be granted with fake tickets. Beware of fake ticket sellers and stay away from unauthorised buying and selling," it added.
Diljit Dosanjh kicked off his India leg of the tour in Delhi. After Jaipur, he has shows in Hyderabad on November 15, Ahmedabad on November 17 and Lucknow on November 22, among others, before concluding in Guwahati on December 29. In April, he made history by becoming the first Punjabi artist to perform at Vancouver's BC Place Stadium and the first Indian artist to get featured on Billboard Canada.
