Australian actress Melissa George says it was very hard to leave ex-husband Claudio Dabed, but insists she "did the right thing".
The Amityville Horror star, who married the Chilean film director in 2000 and announced plans to divorce lastyear, later went on to date music mogul Russell Simmons, reported Contactmusic.
"It was something that happened pretty much overnight. I kind of gave him five years' notice on a couple of issues, andwhen it came up again for him, the lights just went out for me.
"I did have the best marriage. It was so full of love... But, at some point, when it stops serving your needs as awoman and the things that you want for your life, it's either get out now or wait until it's too late. It was very hard forme, but I'm glad I did it... I did the right thing," George said.
