Mumbai:
Producer Sajid Nadiadwala said that he doesn't want to lose the opportunity to back interesting projects.
Sajid has produced hit films like Highway, 2 States and Heropanti. Now, he has an interesting range of films lined up for release, including Phantom which stars Saif Ali Khan and Katrina Kaif, Tamasha which features Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone, Vishal Bharadwaj's Rangoon and Housefull 3 among others.
"It is difficult to greenlight films now after Highway. I don't want to lose an opportunity to tell an interesting story. I am thankful to Kabir Khan (director) for this film (Phantom) and to Katrina and Saif for endorsing it," Sajid said.
Phantom is based on Hussain Zaidi's novel Mumbai Avengers which is set in the aftermath of the 26/11 Mumbai attacks and deals with global terrorism.
The film is set to release on August 28. After Phantom, big films like John Abraham's Welcome Back, Salman Khan's home production Hero and others are releasing back to back.
When asked about facing competition at the box office, Sajid said, "We have only 52 weeks and there is one Christmas, one Eid, one Diwali and other festive times. We are releasing our film on Raksha Bandhan and we hope Raksha Bandhan humari film ki raksha karegi (We hope the festival of Raksha Bandhan shields our film).
