Cinegoers down South will have two reasons to reserve movie tickets this weekend with Thaandavam and Rebel releasing today. Both have been touted as action films and will be released worldwide.
Tamil film Thaandavam, starring Vikram, Anushka Shetty and Amy Jackson, revolves around a RAW officer who becomes blind. Vikram's role is reportedly inspired from Daniel Kish, a blind American expert in human echolocation. Directed by A L Vijay, the film is releasing in about 900 screens worldwide.
The dubbed Telugu version titled Shiva Thaandavam will release simultaneously with the Tamil movie. If the stills are anything to go by, Anushka Shetty will not disappoint for those looking for some glamour and light moments.
Meanwhile, the Telugu film Rebel, starring actor Prabhas is another anticipated release for the weekend. The movie also stars Tamannaah Bhatia and Deeksha Seth and has been directed by Ragava Lawrence.
The plot revolves around the hero who becomes a rebel after his father is killed and sets out to avenge his death. The dash of romance is being provided by the female leads Tamannaah and Deeksha.
The audience is waiting to see whether Prabhas will deliver a hat-trick after his back-to-back hits Darlingand Mr Perfect. Let's hope these two big releases gives the audience its money's worth after all the hype surrounding them.
