New Delhi: The trailer of actor Ajay Devgn's Drishyam has garnered over 1.5 million views, indicating the intrigue surrounding the movie.

The first look and the trailer of the upcoming thriller, which was released online on June 4, has left the audiences intrigued and riveted, heightening the anticipation for its release.

The makers launched the trailer in a unique way by introducing an alluring game on social media. In the game, one has to find clues and answers which eventually lead to Vijay's journey in the film.

This out-of-the-box concept of a trailer launch was widely acclaimed by the audience and it went viral in no time, as seen on the YouTube page of Viacom18 Motion Pictures.

The Singham actor's only 2015 release will witness him in an all new avatar as Vijay Salgaonkar, a common man working as a cable operator who challenges the system when his family is threatened.

Tabu will be seen playing the role of Inspector General of Police (IGP) Meera Deshmukh in the film. A tough policewoman and known to be meticulous in her investigation, her prime suspect is Salgaonkar. Drishyam also features Shriya Saran as Vijay's wife along and actor Rajat Kapoor.

Directed by Nishikant Kamat and co-produced by Viacom18 Motion Pictures and Panorama Studios, Drishyam, a Hindi remake of an eponymous Malayalam film, is slated to release on July 31.
