Ed Sheeran India Concert: Ed Sheeran performs in Mumbai.
New Delhi:
Ed Sheeran entered the stage sharp at 8 pm on November 19 and rocked the stage for one-and-ahalf-hours (fans say that was too less). Nonetheless, Ed Sheeran's second Indian gig was as fabulous as the first one. The Perfect singer started the gig with good old numbers like A Team from his 2011 album '+' and followed it up with Don't from 2014 album 'x'. Later during the show he also sang Shape Of You, which went crazy viral on its release in India. The 26-syear-old singer was dressed in a blue kurta, which was inspired by the cover of his Divide album. He later changed into a blue Team India T-shirt. The crowd cheered Ed Sheeran as he sang one track after the other. "I really like Mumbai," Ed Sheeran said mid-concert, adding: "I'm not a great concert guy. I'm not a good person when I attend concert."
Between the songs he played (which was a mix of his old and new hit tracks), Ed Sheeran revealed: "First instrument I learnt was the piano. But I kind of forgotten how to play that."
Just the audience reaction:
Meanwhile, fans of the Eraser hitmaker had queued up outside the Jio Garden in BKC, Mumbai hours before he made an appearance. And before Ed Sheeran took the stage by storm, singer lauv had enthralled the crowd for an hour. Here are pictures of his performance:
Before entering the stadium, NDTV's Rohit Khilnani met Ed Sheeran's fans who were hopeful that their favourite singer won't disappoint like Justin Bieber by lip-syncing. There were fans from Bengaluru, Ahmedabad and even London. Ed Sheeran's London-based fan was attending the concert for the second tome and even vouched for the singer.
Tonight's concert was a part of Ed Sheeran's Divide tour. The singer arrived in India on Friday and spent Saturday night partying at Farah Khan's home with her Bollywood friends including Shah Rukh Khan, Malaika Arora, Shahid Kapoor and Janhvi Kapoor among others.
