London: Music legend Elton John has promised fans "very special guests and memorable moments" at his upcoming show to kick off BBC's annual music festival.

The Candle In The Wind singer was announced as the first performer in the line-up of the BBC's Electric Proms event in London next month, reported Contactmusic.

The 63-year-old Grammy-winning star has vowed to make it a gig to remember, saying that he will perform with legendary session musician/songwriter Leon Russell and many more musical guests, including rapper Plan B.

"I'm delighted to be kicking off this year's Radio 2 Electric Proms, particularly as I'll be joined on stage by Leon who is one of my musical heroes. The performance will feature some very special guests and memorable moments," said John.

John's concert at London's Roundhouse will take place on October 28.
