As a part of an aggressive brand promotion strategy for the new fiscal, Kolkata-based FMCG firm Emami has roped in Bollywood actor Neil Nitin Mukesh to endorse its personal care range.
Emami said that it will increase its marketing and advertising spends by up to 15 per cent in 2011-12.
"In 2010-11, our marketing expenditure was around Rs 200 crore, in the new fiscal we are looking to grow this by 10-15 per cent," Emami Director Harsh Agarwal told PTI.
Without disclosing financial details, he said the firm has signed up Neil Nitin Mukesh for at least one year.
"We have not yet finalised the brands to be endorsed by him," he added.
The Lafangey Parindey star's current endorsements include Mankind Pharma's Addiction deodrants and Gen X vests.
Emami, which is on a celebrity signing up spree, recently roped in Bollywood actors Hrithik Roshan and Kangana Ranaut and noted Kathak dancer Pandit Birju Maharaj.
