Emraan Hashmi in a still from Azhar.
Mumbai:
Bollywood actor Emraan Hashmi has slammed the reports that actress Sangeeta Bijlani is not happy with her portrayal in the upcoming biopic Azhar.
"That's completely wrong. Even Azhar bhai was a bit concerned about that. She didn't say anything of that sort to the press but some paper had carried it, which is baseless," Emraan told PTI.
Directed by Tony D'Souza, the movie is based on the life of former Indian cricketer Mohammad Azharuddin.
There were reports that Ms Bijlani was not pleased with the making of the movie, which reminds her of the time when she was married to the ex-cricketer.
In the movie, Nargis Fakhri will portray the role of Ms Bijlani, who was married to the former cricketer until their divorce in 2010.
Azhar stars Emraan in the titular role and also features Prachi Desai and Lara Dutta.
