Emraan was talking amidst a promotional interview for his upcoming film Raja Natwarlal
New Delhi:
Actor Emraan Hashmi, who brewed up rather controversial answers on Koffee With Karan, now clarifies that he didn't mean to make anyone feel bad when he took a dig on them during his rapid fire round of in which he appeared with uncle Mahesh Bhatt. He says he did it just for the coveted 'Koffee Hamper'.
While being grilled by Karan Johar in the - now infamous - rapid fire round of his show, Emraan had said that he would love to steal Abhishek Bachchan's wife Aishwarya from him and also called her 'plastic'. He had said the same about Saif Ali Khan too while for Ranbir Kapoor, Emraan had to be content with his girlfriends. (Also Read: Emraan's Romance report card)
The actor, who is busy promoting his film Mr Natwarlal, now confesses that he is a big fan of Aishwarya and even though he doesn't watch too many Hindi films he watched her film Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam five times at the theatres.
The actor now agrees that he should have restrained himself during the round and blames it all on his greed to win the hamper and beat his 'ever-competitive' and overconfident 'smug' uncle Mahesh Bhatt. He said, "I respect and like everyone I ripped off on that show. I'm a big fan of Aishwarya. I watched Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam and it was for the happer. and if you have someone as smug as someone sitting in front of you, sometimes you've got to show him who's the boss."
Emraan also jumped to the defence of his The Dirty Picture co-star Vidya Balan who is going through a rough patch of sorts. The actor said, "It's not fair. She's always chosen good films. I believe in the film she's worked in right now and she's done a fantastic job. But there are always ups and downs and you don't count somebody out just because of one film."
