Amritsar: Child artiste Bhavesh JagdishBalchandani, who is known for the lead role in TV soapVeera, says sharing screen space with Emraan Hashmi in EkThi Daayan was a learning experience for him.
The 12-year-old Mumbai based boy, who is making his debutwith filmmaker Kannan Iyer's horror film, plays a pivotalcharacter of Emraan and Huma Qureshi's adopted son, Zubin.
"It was fun and at the same time a learning experienceworking with Emraan uncle. He used to treat me like his ownson on the sets. He used to say that I am like his own son,Ayaan. In the film, I play his adopted son and we shottogether for four months," Bhavesh told PTI.
Bhavesh says getting the role was not a cakewalk for himbecause he was selected from among 500 children, who had comefor the auditions.
"I had to go through many screen tests. Then there was aworkshop with Vishal Bharadwaj, Kanan Iyer and Ekta Kapoor,before I got finally selected.
"Shooting first happened in Delhi and Mumbai. Few daysago, I shot with Emraan and Huma for two-three days as somere-shoots needed to be done," Bhavesh, who was here topromote the Star Plus soap Veera at the golden temple alongthe rest of the crew members, said.
In the serial, Bhavesh plays the character of a protectivebrother of his younger sister and takes care of her everyneeds. The story revolves around the life-changing sacrificesthe siblings make for each other.
"I memorize dialogues as I learn my question and answersin my school. I love the serial and my classmates keep askingme about the upcoming episodes. But, I don't divulge anydetails and ask them to watch the show," said the 7th standardstudent.
Bhavesh started his career in showbiz with TV commercialswhen he was three-year-old and appeared in more than 50advertisements. He got his first break when he got selectedfor the first season of reality show India's Got Talent.
"I have never expected that I will get this much fame andlove from my audience. I participated in the show as a dancer.Nobody in my family is from acting background but my parentssupported me a lot. My school also co-operates me with myshooting schedules," he said.
Asked about his idol in the industry, Bhavesh said, "Ilike Salman Khan. I like his films and watch almost all ofthem. I wanted to have a career like him."
