In order to communicate with heraudibly impaired fans, Desperate Housewives star EvaLongoria said she has learned to speak in sign language.
The 36-year-old actress, who had her own experience ofphysical disability at home, said she is keen to indulge inmore charity work, reported Contactmusic.
Longoria's sister Elizabeth has Down's Syndrome andthe star said, "I always think it's important to bringawareness to minority or a minority population and whetheryou're Latino or black or a woman or deaf, it still falls intothat category of needing support from people who aren'tnormally around this type of population."
"I come from a diverse background of people withspecial needs, because of my sister, so I'm happy to bring myvoice to this cause."
The TV star, who recently launched her own cook bookEva's Kitchen, insisted many audibly impaired fans purchaseher recipe diary.
"I've had a lot of deaf people who have bought my bookand I've been able to talk to them about what my favouriterecipe is and what to cook," added Longoria.
