Los Angeles:
Hollywood beauty Eva Longoria has been elected the honorary chairperson of the charity 'Rally for Kids with Cancer'.
The Desperate Housewives star, who was named 'Philanthropist of the Year' by Hollywood Reporter in 2009 for giving back to the community, has long been associated with the organisation.
The 35-year-old actress danced and cheered her way to the podium to make a speech regarding her work for the cause at an event, reported People magazine online.
Longoria, who is married to basketball star Tony Parker, will help organise events to raise money for children suffering with cancer.
Rally is just one of the many charities she has become involved with in the past few years.
Longoria also supports the Clothes Off Our Back Foundation, the National Centre for Missing and Exploited Children, the National Stroke Association, Project HOME and St Jude Children's Research Hospital.
She started her own charity in 2006 called Eva's Heroes, which helps developmentally disabled children.
