Hundreds of fans of Bollywood actorSalman Khan turned up at the Bandra court today to catch aglimpse of their favourite star who was summoned by aMagistrate for his involvement in a hit and run case.
Most people waited patiently in the compound of thecourt to see the actor, who turned 47 today.
Salman was asked to appear before a MetropolitanMagistrate on a complaint that he had allegedly delayed thetrial in connivance with police.
A strong posse of policemen guarded the court and itsprecincts and did not allow Salman's fans to go upto courtnumber 9, which is located on the first floor of the buildingin suburban Bandra.
Many fans of the actor stood on the bridge overlookingthe court building while others waited at the two entrancesapparently to say best of luck to the Dabangg hero.
The actor, however, did not come to the court althoughhis two sisters Alvira and Arpita were spotted alongwithlawyer Dipesh Mehta.
Ahmed Patel, a diehard fan of Salman, told PTI that hewas from Gujarat and had come here to meet his relatives. Ashe had read in newspapers that Salman was summoned today bythe court he had come to meet the actor.
Raju Mehta, another fan of Salman, said he arrived at thecourt at 10 am to get a vantage seat so that he could see theproceedings from a close distance. "I will come again onJanuary 30 when the matter would be heard again," he said.
