Los Angeles: NRI film editor Tariq Anwar, who was nominated in the Best Editing Oscar category for British film 'The King's Speech', lost out the coveted trophy to Angus Wall and Kirk Baxter of 'The Social Network'.
Anwar, who was in the Oscars list along with A R music maestro A R Rahman, had previously earned a nomination for his editing in Sam Mendes 'American Beauty' in 1999.
One of the most celebrated names in the British film editing world Anwar was born in Lucknow in Uttar Pradesh.
In his two decade long career Anwar has worked on films like 'The Good Shepherd' and 'Sylvia'.
Rahman too lost in both the categories -- the best original score and the best original song for Danny Boyle's "127 Hours".
Rahman had won two Oscars for his music in 'Slumdog Millionaire in 2009 but had to return empty handed this year.
