FIR against Student Of The Year team for 'hurting religious feelings'

The complaint alleges that a song in the film refers to the mythological figure Radha as "sexy"
Mumbai: A criminal case has been registeredagainst Bollywood director Karan Johar, producer Gauri Khanand others for allegedly hurting the religious feelings ofpeople by referring to mythological figure Radha as "sexy" ina song in the recently released film Student of the Year.

The local police lodged the case in compliance with amagisterial court's order on a private complaint by an NGO.'Shrivision Social Empowerment and Welfare Association',an NGO, had last month approached the court with a privatecomplaint, alleging that a song in the film refers to themythological figure Radha as "sexy".

Last month, the magistrate ordered registration of FIR,the organisation's spokesperson said.

Superintendent of Police O P Tripathi told PTI that FIRwas lodged last night under section 295 (A) (hurting religioussentiments) of Indian Penal Code.

The FIR was lodged against director Johar, producer GauriKhan, Dharma Productions House, Sony Music, lyricist AnvetaDutta, composers Vishal-Shekhar, singers Shreya Ghoshal andUdit Narayan, and the actors Alia Bhatt, Sidharth Malhotraand Varun Dhawan, the SP said.
