First Hollywood film gives Big B big nerves

New Delhi: He is regularly hailed as a legendary actor but Amitabh Bachchan still experiences newbie anxiety before a film shoot.

Now in Sydney to shoot for his first Hollywood project, Baz Luhrmann's The Great Gatsby, the Big B says he is nervous and apprehensive.

Mr Bachchan will be seen in the $120 million film alongside Hollywood stars Leonardo DiCaprio and Tobey Maguire.

"The shoot for The Great Gatsby for Baz Luhrmann! Butterflies as large and as huge as the Transformers monsters in the film that I breezed through on the flight.

Apprehensions, as fearful as the raging thunder and lightening storm that broke over the Mumbai skyline just prior to my departure last night..." he wrote on his blog.

"Starting work tomorrow morning .. new environs, new systems, new colleagues, new set up ..new nerves and fresh butterflies !!" Mr Bachchan tweeted.

After landing in Sydney a short while ago, Mr Bachchan tweeted: "So Sydney it is in Australia and its pleasantly cold, even though Summer is round the corner .. shooting for Great Gatsby.

The romantic drama follows the life of Midwesterner Nick Carraway who moves to Long Island, New York and becomes drawn into the glamorous life of his neighbour Jay Gatsby.

But Nick soon discovers that the lives of the nouveau riche are not all what they seem from the outside.

The film is set for release in 2012.
