New Delhi:

The first of Project K's big reveals dropped early Tuesday morning - a glimpse of Deepika Padukone's character. The poster is a close-up of Deepika and reveals little about the film or who she is playing but she looks compelling as always. Production banner Vyjayanthi Movies posted the first look, writing: "A hope comes to light for a better tomorrow. This is Deepika Padukone from Project K." The much-awaited film also stars Prabhas, Amitabh Bachchan and Kamal Haasan.

Earlier this month, it was revealed that Project K would be part of this year's Comic Con at San Diego, the first film from India to do so. Deepika Padukone and other cast members posted announcements on their socials. "Proud to be a part of the first ever Indian movie to go to Comic Con. See you there," Deepika wrote on Instagram.

The title and trailer of Project K (which is a working title) are likely to be revealed at Comic Con later this month.

Comic Con, an annual event that includes previews and panels of upcoming films in its line-up, has recalibrated its programming this year because of the ongoing actors and writers strike that has all but shut Hollywood down. Marvel and other studios have already cancelled their presence at the event as have Netflix, Disney, HBO, Universal and Sony. The Project K panel, however, will likely not be affected since none of its cast are members of SAG-AFTRA, the union that represents some 1,60,000 actors all of whom are now on strike. (Aside - Priyanka Chopra is a member).

Meantime, Project K has already made its presence felt in Times Square, New York.

Project K is a sci-fi film directed by Nag Ashwin and is expected to release next January.
