Los Angeles: The first movie depicting raidby US special forces to kill world's most wanted terrorist,Osama bin Laden, will hit the American television airways onNovember 4, 48 hours before the presidential polls.
Titled Seal Team Six, the movie made by NationalGeographic Channel is all set for opening on November 4, morethan a month before the theatrical opening of the much awaitedfilm by Oscar-winning director Kathryn Bigelow Zero DarkThirty.
"We wanted to be first to bring this story to viewers,"National Geographic Channels president Howard T Owens told TheHollywood Reporter.
Owens says the decision to debut the movie days beforethe election wasn't motivated by politics.
"We are not trying for this to be political film. We havea fall schedule coming out and we want to be able to promotethat schedule."
Notwithstanding his comments, co-producer of the filmHarvey Weinstein is a prominent fundraiser for PresidentBarack Obama, whose election team has made the killing of BinLaden his major re-election plank.
