Los Angeles:
French beauty Berenice Marlohe has been tipped to take on the coveted part opposite Daniel Craig in the upcoming Bond 23.
Marlohe is a French actress who aims to make a transition from television to the big-screen. She is currently shooting a movie directed by James Huth, called Un Bonheur N'arriveJamais Seul, reported Ace Showbiz.
Before Marlohe, it was rumoured that Brazilian model Ana Araujo was close to secure the part. Earlier this September, the girlfriend of rocker Ronnie Wood of The Rolling Stones was reportedly competing with Naomie Harris for the coveted role.
While Craig seems to have found his on-screen lady for the latest 007 film, director Sam Mendes reportedly will shoot the opening scenes in Turkey. Producers Michael G Wilson and Barbara Broccoli have met Turkish government to sign a deal to shoot the scenes in Istanbul.
"The opening scenes are planned to be filmed in Istanbul, but some other places will also be used outside Istanbul for the film. The site that will be used for the production include Sultanahmet Square, a historical neighborhood in the city," said Ertugrul Gunay, Turkish Culture and Tourism Minister.
"There are, however, a number of locations, including the waterside and shores of the Bosporus, in consideration for the 10-15 minutes of the movie that is to be filmed in Turkey," he added.
The upcoming Bond movie will be the third one to be shot in Istanbul after From Russia with Love and The World Is Not Enough.
"James Bond is no stranger to Istanbul, and as the series marks its 50th anniversary next year, it is fitting that 007 would return to one of the most loved locations in the history of the franchise. It really just feels like we are coming home," said Wilson, one of the producers.
