Deepika Padukone has given her friends precedence over her work commitments.
The actress has taken off to Thailand to attend a close friend's wedding instead of unveiling her item number in Dum Maaro Dum.
Deepika was to unveil her item number during the India-South Africa World Cup match on March 12, but she excused herself by saying that she had committed to shooting in Bhopal for Prakash Jha's Aarakshan.
Consequently, she will be a no-show in both places.
A source close to Deepika maintains, "She hasn't taken a break for a long time. Her schedule for Aarakshan has been intense. So when her friend called to invite her for the wedding she jumped at the opportunity to take a short break. Deepika had her film's schedule changed to make time for the wedding."However, she shot for her parts for Prakash Jha's film before leaving, so the unit wouldn't suffer. "She didn't want to delay the film in any way."
Apart from attending the wedding, Deepika also plans to unwind with close girlfriends in Bangkok.
