From erotica, Hate Story director moves onto political issues
Mumbai: After directing the eroticthriller Hate Story, Vivek Agnihotri is now making two filmson socio-political issues.

First to release will be his film Buddha in a TrafficJam on the Naxal issue, starring Anupam Kher. The other filmis a political thriller Freedom with R Madhavan in the lead.

"Buddha in a Traffic Jam is in post production. It is avery different kind of a film when you compare it with HateStory or my previous film Dhan Dhan Dhan Goal," Vivek, whostarted his career with Chocolate, told PTI.

"This one too is a cerebral film but it isn't anythinglike Chocolate. It deals with the Naxal issue and unfoldsthrough nine chapters, just like a book," he added.

Anupam plays a professor in the film which also starsArunoday Singh and Mahi Gill. The film was incidentally shotmuch before Hate Story but would be released only now.

"The film was almost ready when Vikram Bhatt spoke to meabout Hate Story. Since he was the producer and wanted tostart the film early, I decided to wait instead of rushing upboth the films. I didn't want a conflict by working on bothfilms at the same time," said Vivek.

He plans to roll out an innovative campaign to promoteBuddha In A Traffic Jam.

"I can be patient enough to bring the film at a righttime after a right messaging. When I made Chocolate, no onehad made suspense thrillers for a long time. Then when Iconceptualised Dhan Dhana Dhan Goal, not just did I make itfootball centric, I also placed it in English football league, which was quite a complicated thing to do," he said.

Vivek has already begun working on Freedom for which hehas already confirmed Madhavan as one of the male leads.

"It is one film which is very close to my heart. It is apolitical thriller that gives a blow by blow account of modernday India during last three decades. I can't wait to getbehind the camera for this one. Madhavan is definitely onthough a few more actors would soon be coming on board," hesaid.
