Gabbar Is Back and if you thought the dacoit you've loved to hate for 40 glorious years since Sholay was beyond redemption, the first teasers of Akshay Kumar's upcoming film will make you do a double take. Indian cinema's most notorious character is being given a complete makeover by actor Akshay Kumar, the lead actor of Gabbar Is Back. (Also Read: Bollywood Villains are the New Heroes)
Sample Akshay's opening line in the first teaser: Pachas Pachas kos door jab log rishwat letey hai to log kehtey hain ki mat ley warna Gabbar aa jayega - there's a slight departure from Amjad Ali Khan's original lines which were - Pachas Pachas kos door jab bachcha rota hai toh maa kehti hai beta so ja nahi toh gabbar aa jayega.
The second teaser opens with Sholay's most iconic dialogue - Kitne Aadmi They.
So this time, it seems, Gabbar has indeed turned over a new leaf. In fact, he seems to have vowed to wipe out corruption for good. Akshay had indicated as much when he wrote on Twitter yesterday:

Produced by Viacom 18 Motion Pictures and Sanjay Leela Bhansali Productions, Gabbar Is Back also stars Shruti Haasan and Prakash Raj and is written by AR Murugadoss. It is slated to hit theatres later this year.
