New Delhi:
For those Game of Thrones fans desperately hoping that Jon Snow will be resurrected in season six, recent developments do not bode well. Jon Snow's unexpected and gory death in the finale of season five some days ago left fans shocked.
HBO has now revealed the actors who will appear on the Comic Con panel next month and there is a sad lack of Kit Harington, the actor who starred as Jon Snow, on it.
From Arya Stark to Melisandre, the panel includes several characters from the hit TV show - but not Jon Snow. Past panels have brought back deceased characters - actors Rose Leslie and Pedro Pascal appeared at Comic Con after their screen selves Ygritte and Oberyn Martell died, and Jason Momoa crashed the stage after his character Khal Drogo was killed off, insisting he wasn't dead.
In the book series, Jon Snow dies in the fifth instalment but since author George R R Martin is still writing the books, fans of the show have fingers crossed for a revival. In an interview with New York Daily News, actor Kit Harington has quelled hope that he will return from the dead. "I'm quite dead. It's over for Jon Snow - at the very least, he gets to join his family and kin and leave this terrible world behind," Kit said.
He also offered up alternative characters for fans to cheer: "Follow Tyrion (Peter Dinklage) or Daenerys (Emilia Clarke) or Brianne (Gwendoline Christie)," Harington says. "There are certain good people left in there. Jaime Lannister (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau) to an extent, although that's a very gray area."
