He may have killed popular characters in popular TV series Game of Thrones with ease but author George R R Martin finds it offensive when fans speculate whether he will be able to finish the series before his death.
The series, which is aired on HBO, has a huge fan base, many of whom have expressed concerns that the 65-year-old author might die before completing Song of Ice and Fire.
In an interview to Swiss newspaper Tages-Anzeiger, the author flipped the bird when reminded of the pertinent question asked by his fans. "I find that question pretty offensive, people speculating about my death and my health," Mr Martin said.
Game of Thrones finished its fourth season on June 15 this year. The filming of the fifth season will begin this month for a premiere in 2015.
Mr Martin is currently working on the sixth volume, The Winds of Winter, of the i>Ice and Fire novel series. He also plans to begin working on the seventh volume A Dream of Spring soon.
