New Delhi:
Superstar Shah Rukh Khan and his family bid adieu to Bappa, who was a guest at Mannat since Ganesh Chaturthi, on Thursday. Shah Rukh's fan clubs shared a video and several pictures of SRK, his wife Gauri, daughter Suhana and son AbRam taking the Ganpati idol for visarjan from their Mumbai residence. Needless to say, Shah Rukh's security team also followed the Khans. In a video posted by a fan club, Shah Rukh can be seen carrying the Ganesh idol out of the gates of his bungalow and then handing it over to his team. The 51-year-old actor quickly held AbRam's hand for the remainder of their journey.
Bollywood welcomed Ganpati with open arms this time, like every year. Celebrities such as Rishi Kapoor, Sanjay Dutt and Hrithik Roshan invited Bappa to their homes on Ganesh Chaturthi (August 25) and so far Sanjay Dutt and the Kapoors have bid adieu to Bappa. In the case of Shah Rukh's friend Salman Khan, Bappa's temporary address changed from the Galaxy Apartments to Salman's sister Arpita's Carter Road home. Since Salman was busy filming Tiger Zinda Hai, his family decided to host the Ganesh utsav at Arpita's place.
This year's biggest Ganpati welcome party was hosted by the Ambanis and almost the entire Bollywood turned up, dressed in their finest to seek Bappa's blessings.
Celebrities also participated in the Ganesh utsav by visiting several sarvajanik pandals, including Mumbai's famous Lalbaugcha Raja, where Bappa sits as Navsacha Ganpati. Sanjay Dutt, Priyanka Chopra, Ajay Devgn and the Bachchans were Lalbaugcha Raja's celeb devotees.
