Actor Gautam Rode, who is best-known for his role in TV show Saraswatichandra, recently got engaged to former co-star Pankhuri Awasthy, reports Bombay Times. Pankhuri featured in Kya Qusoor Hai Amala Ka? Their engagement ceremony, held during Diwali, was a closed-knit affair. "They had a small roka ceremony attended by their families. Both Gautam and Pankhuri are introverts and they have always remained guarded about their personal lives. They have been together for almost two years now and decided to get engaged during Diwali, making it even more special for their loved ones," a source told Bombay Times. Gautam and Pankhuri first met on the sets of their mythological show Suryaputra Karn.
Gautam and Pankhuri were rumoured to be dating for a while. "Yes, Pankhuri and I recently got engaged and I feel lucky to have found a life partner like her. We share the same wavelength and she has fit into my family perfectly," he told Bombay Times while the actress said, "We have taken the first step. The families have wholeheartedly welcomed our union. In Gautam, I have found the answer to all my dreams. I'm eagerly looking forward to the most important phase of my life."
The wedding date hasn't been finalised as of yet but according to them, it will held sometime during next year.
Gautam Rode, 40, is currently prepping for the release of his film Aksar 2, opposite Zarine Khan. He has also been part of shows like Baa Bahu Aur Baby, Lucky and Maha Kumbh: Ek Rahasaya. Meanwhile, Pankhuri Awasthy started her career with Yeh Hai Aashiqui and later played the lead role in Razia Sultan.
