George Clooney accepts German Prize for humanitarian efforts

London: Fresh from grabbing an Oscar for hisfilm Argo, Hollywood star George Clooney added another awardto his collection after picking up German Media Prize.

After the Oscars ceremony, The Descendants star wentstraight to Germany to receive the award in honour of hishumanitarian efforts and political activism at a ceremony inBaden-Baden, reported Contactmusic.

Peace activist Clooney founded the advocacy organisation'Not On Our Watch' with fellow actors Brad Pitt, Matt Damonand Don Cheadle to provide aid in places of internationalcrises such as Darfur, Burma and Zimbabwe.

Germany's Federal Labour Minister Ursula von der Leyenpraised Clooney for his courage.

The 51-year old actor-producer joins the league of formerUS President Bill Clinton, Nelson Mandela and Dalai Lama whohave been honoured with the award previously.
