Actors George Clooney, Brad Pitt and Kevin Bacon have raised more than $2 million for an equal rights charity.
The stars, along with other famous faces including Martin Sheen, John C Reilly and Chris Colfer, took to the stage atthe Wilshire Ebell Theatre in Los Angeles and performed a Dustin Lance Black's play about California's controversialsame-sex marriage bill, reported Daily Express.
The play named 8 is about the Proposition 8 legislation which overturned the legalisation of gay unions in the state.
More than 200,000 fans logged on to YouTube to watch the show online, and it has now been revealed that over $2million was raised for the American Foundation for Equal Rights.
"It's important to be on the right side of history. In 20 years, I don't want anyone to wonder where I stood. At somepoint people are going to look back and wonder why this was ever an issue," Clooney said.
