George Clooney rules out political career
London: Hollywood superstar George Clooney does not want to be the next Ronald Reagan.

The actor-director, who plays a Democrat governor running for the White House in his latest film Ide Of March, says he has no political aspirations. Clooney, who directs and stars in the political thriller about the backroom politics behind the election for the top post, has been outspoken against the US government on issues like Iraq war. But the actor laughed off speculation that he is contemplating a political career in near future, the Daily Mail reported.

The 50-year-old, who premieres his film at the Venice Film Festival tonight, said he is not keen on the responsibility.

"I don't make decisions that are life or death. If you are in power every day is a compromise. I don't have to make decisions that effect peoples lives, If I make a mistake its not going to cost 100,000 people their lives. I'm very happy just telling stories," he said.

Clooney had backed Barack Obama during his race for the presidency, said, "There is a guy in office who is smarter than anybody you know, nicer anyone you know, and he is havingan impossible time. Why would anyone volunteer for that? I have a very nice life and have no interest in that."
