Actor George Clooney is celebrating a big birthday. The Academy Award winner, who has been named as the Sexiest Man Alive not once but twice, turned 50 today.
Clooney spent much of his 49th year trying to bring attention to the threat of another genocide in Sudan. His next movie, The Ides of March is slated for an October 2011 release.
The actor also has two films in pre-production stage: The Man from U.N.C.L.E. and Gravity.
Other celebs who turn 50 this year include Michael J. Fox, Forest Whitaker, Heather Locklear and James Gandolfini.
