Actor Gerard Butler enjoyed being a producer on Playing for Keeps as it helped him get involved in the creative process of the film.
"I love to be able to produce, especially if it's a project that you really believe in, and this was very much a passion project for me," Butler said in a statement.
"When you're producing, you have a chance to get even more involved and have more of a say in the creative process at all levels... that's what got me about it," he added.
Butler is not only producing the film, he is also acting in it. In the film, he plays a former soccer star who is trying to put his life back together.
Releasing on December 7, Playing for Keeps also features Jessica Biel, Dennis Quaid, Uma Thurman, Catherine Zeta-Jones.
