Glee stars' controversial racy photoshoot

Glee stars' controversial racy photoshoot
London: The young stars of hit TV musical Glee are under fire from a a US parents group over a racy photoshoot for a magazine cover.

The actors, who play high school students in the drama, appear on GQ magazine's cover wearing skimpy outfits and that irked the parents organisations, who claim that the photoshoot "borders on paedophilia".

Actors Lea Michele, 24, Dianna Agron, 24, and Cory Monteith, 28, posed for a series of raunchy shots with photographer Terry Richardson.

Though all the stars are above the age of 21, the parents have taken offence to the fact that they pose as their high school characters

"It is disturbing that GQ, which is explicitly written for adult men, is sexualising the actresses who play high school-aged characters on Glee in this way.

"It borders on paedophilia. Sadly, this is just the latest example of the overt sexualisation of young girls in entertainment," the Parents Television Council said in a statement.

But the magazine has defended its decision, saying, "The Parents Television Council must not be watching much TV these days and should learn to divide reality from fantasy. As often happens in Hollywood, these "kids" are in their twenties. Cory Monteith is almost 30! I think they're old enough to do what they want," Editor-in-chief Jim Nelson said.

Directed by Eat, Pray, Love helmer Ryan Murphy, the musical focuses on the trials and tribulations of a group of high school students.
