Hit TV musical Glee andcomedy Modern Family were honoured at the Gay and LesbianAlliance Against Defamation (GLAAD) for their positiveportrayal of homosexual characters.
The US shows were jointly named Best Comedy Seriesfor their portrayal of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgenders(LGBT), reported People magazine online.
Glee co-stars Chris Colfer and Mike O'Malleyaccepted the prize alongside Modern Family's Jesse TylerFerguson, Julie Bowen and Ariel Winter.
According to GLAAD, the prize is handed out to thosewho increase visibility and understanding of the LGBTcommunity.
I Love You, Phillip Morris, starring Jim Carrey andEwan McGregor, was named Outstanding Film, while ProjectRunway won the reality TV award after featuring a contestantwho publicly revealed he was HIV positive.
