The Goa government decided totake action against Saif Ali Khan's Go Goa Gone forviolating the Cigarette Smoking Act and for allegedly'defaming' the coastal state in the movie.
The violations were brought to the notice of the StateLegislative Assembly by BJP Legislator Pramod Sawant, whoclaimed that the film defamed the state.
"This is one of the instances wherein the filmmaker hasbeen misusing Goa's name," Sawant said.
The legislator also pointed out that the one of theposters showed Khan puffing cigarettes which violated theanti-tobacco law.
"NGO National Organization for Tobacco Eradication (NOTE)has already issued notice to the filmmakers (Raj Nidimoru andKrishna D K) and the actor," he said.
Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar responding to the ZeroHour mention by Sawant assured to take action on the matter.
"Give me all the details, I will take action," he said.
The movie which is India's first zomcom features SaifAli Khan, Kunal Khemu, Vir Das, Anand Tiwari and Puja Gupta.
