The 80th Golden Globes kickstarted Hollywood's award season with a ceremony in Los Angeles hosted by comedian Jerrod Carmichael. RRR, directed by SS Rajamouli won Best Original Song for Naatu Naatu. It was also competing for Best Non-English Language Film which was won by Argentina, 1985. RRR, starring Jr NTR and Ram Charan as real-life freedom fighters Komaram Bheem and Alluri Sitaramaraju, is the first Indian film to win a Golden Globe, among Hollywood's most prestigious. Director Rajamouli, Jr NTR and Ram Charan attended the Golden Globes with wives Lakshmi Pranathi and Upasana Kamineni. Apart from RRR, other notable winners included The Banshees Of Inisherin, The Fabelmans and Everything Everywhere All At Once. Abbott Elementary and The White Lotus were the big winners in the television categories.
