British lawyer Amal Alamuddin made her first red carpet appearance as Mrs George Clooney at the just-concluded Golden Globes where her husband was receiving the Cecil B DeMille award for his work in films such as The Descendants, Gravity, Leatherheads and Syriana.
Amal dressed for the part in a black Dior gown that channeled old Hollywood, with a draped train and elbow-length white opera gloves. Her famous mane of raven locks tumbled over her shoulders, siren red lips adding a note of colour.
Her husband received his honorary Globe, which is essentially a prize for lifetime achievement, from The Good Wife star Julianna Margulies and House of Lies' Don Cheadle, both of who co-starred with Mr Clooney on TV series ER.
Part of his thank you speech was dedicated to his wife of four months. "It's a humbling thing when you find someone to love. Even better when you've waited 53 years. I couldn't be prouder to be your husband," Mr Clooney said to Amal who was watching from the audience.
The Clooneys were married in September in Venice, Italy.
