Karisma Kapur believes that hersister Kareena's first hit film post marriage is a sign thatBollywood is now open to casting married actresses and mothersin lead roles.
The 38-year-old actress, who raises two kids Samaira andKiaan, has also worked in a number of movies post marriage."I absolutely think things are changing. We sistersshouldn't take all the credit though as all married actressesand mothers out there are making their own space.
"We are becoming like the West, which is really good.Angelina Jolie, Julia Roberts, Kate Winslet are all momsworking, endorsing and raising a family. I think it is a greattime for married actresses and mothers in the industry,"Karisma told PTI.
The Raja Hindustani star has taken up few Bollywoodprojects in the recent past. Her latest movie DangerousIshhq came after a gap of six years.Karisma says she can easily do three movies a year but isin no rush after having a fruitful career of two decades inBollywood.
"Honestly, I could sign three films and be on the setsall the time but that's not my idea of working today. I havehad a great career and I am thankful that my fans enjoyedwatching me in a movie and want me to do another one," shesaid.
Karisma, who was in the Capital to unveil the new TV showSuraj-The Rising Star, an animation serial on Colors, saysshe is reading a few scripts and is expected to be back onsets sometime next year.The program is the Indian version of Japanese show StarOf Giants and is in collaboration with Japanese productionhouses.
"Animated shows and movies are rare in India. I hopepeople make some more of them so we can take our kids to thetheatre. We see educational programs but do not watchmotivational and inspirational programs."
Besides being busy with endorsements and films, Karismasays her kids keep her on her toes.
"They keep me busy all the time which I think is reallygood and I love being a mom, that is the most important thingto me in this whole world. Giving my children the right valuesand bringing them up correctly is very important to me."
