New Delhi:
Actor Salman Khan's sister Arpita Khan Sharma celebrated Eid with her family and friends on Thursday and pictures clearly suggest that they had a great time.
Riteish Deshmukh and his wife, actress Genelia D'Souza, and TV star Shabbir Ahluwalia and his wife, actress Kanchi Kaul, posed for a lovely picture with Arpita and her husband Aayush Sharma. All three couples in the photo recently had babies - Arpita and Aayush's son Ahil was born on March 30, Riteish and Genelia welcomed their second child Rahyl on June 1, Kanchi and Shabbir also welcomed their second child on February 18. So much glow on their faces.
Genelia, 28, looked pretty in a Rimple & Harpeet Narula ensemble.
Arpita also shared a picture with television personality Mini Mathur. Mini's husband, filmmaker Kabir Khan, directed Salman in the films Ek Tha Tiger and Bajrangi Bhaijaan.
Mini shared a collage in which she is seen posing with Arpita, Kabir, actress Daisy Shah and stylist Leepakshi Ellawadi.
Here's a closer look at what Mini wore - Payal Khandwala couture and gorgeous earrings by Ankit Khullar.
On Thursday, Arpita shared a picture of the Khan-daan celebrating Eid together. Although Salman wasn't present, his brother actor Arbaaz Khan and estranged wife actress Malaika Arora were photographed along with the rest of the gang. Malaika, 42, and Arbaaz, 48, issued a joint statement to DNA in March announcing their separation.
The picture features Salman's brothers Arbaaz and Sohail, Malaika, Sohail's wife Seema, sisters Alvira and Arpita, Alvira's husband filmmaker Atul Agnihotri and their son Ayaan, Arpita's husband Aayush Sharma and their three-month-old son Ahil.
Meanwhile, Salman Khan failed to appear before the Maharashtra Commission of Women for the second time on Thursday for his rape comment. He did make a semi-public appearance on his balcony, accompanied by his father, writer Salim Khan.
Salman, 50, was dressed in a green tee and skull cap. His film Sultan released on Wednesday to packed theatres and mostly favourable reviews. Directed by Ali Abbas Zafar, Sultan also stars Anushka Sharma, Randeep Hooda and Amit Sadh.
Salman has still not apologised for having compared himself to a "raped woman" when asked about filming Sultan. On June 18, he told reporters while promoting his film: "When I used to walk out of the ring, after the shoot, I used to feel like a raped woman. I couldn't walk straight."
Salman has been given a "third and final" chance to appear before the Maharashtra Women's Commission on July 14, failing which he could face an FIR or police complaint.
Salman Khan has also been summoned by the National Commission of Women.
