Legendary guitarist Slash has filed for divorce from wife Perla Ferrar, after almost nine years of marriage.
Often named as one of the best electric guitarist of all times, the former Guns N' Roses AR, filed for divorce Monday in L.A. County Superior Court, citing irreconcilable differences and July 15, 2010 as the date of separation, People reported online.
"I can confirm the divorce papers were filed and from Slash's perspective the split is amicable," the 45-year-old musician's representative said.
The couple wed in October 2001 and have two sons, London, 8, and Cash, 4.
Slash, whose real name is Saul Hudson, is seeking joint physical and legal custody of the children.
After a successful career with Guns N' Roses, with whom he performed and recorded between 1985 and 1996, Slash formed formed Slash's Snakepit and co-founded Velvet Revolver with his former bandmates Duff McKagan and Matt Sorum. His debut solo album, Slash, was released in April this year.
