Women's rights activist and 'Gulabigang' leader Sampat Pal says she has decided to participate inthe reality show Bigg Boss season six.
Sampat had earlier claimed that she had been offered astint on the upcoming edition of the show but was reluctant asshe wanted to attend a women's conference in Brazil.
But the activist has now confirmed that she will beparticipating and also left for Mumbai today.
"The organisers of Bigg Boss approached me again lastnight asking for my final response to their invitation andafter consulting my people I confirmed my participation,"Sampat told PTI over phone.
Regarding her initial reluctance, Sampat (65) said,"Since I had been invited to World Women's Conference inBrazil on October 28, I was in a dilemma over my participationin the reality show."
Sampat said that in case she manages to survive for morethan two weeks in the house she would think of cancelling herBrazil plans.
"I can spread the message on women rights and theirstruggles through the Bigg Boss platform and create awarenesssince I have been told that in it (the show) the participantsget a chance to showcase their actual personality andbeliefs," she said.
Sampat, who runs 'Gulabi Gang' - a group of women knownfor taking up the cause of women facing violence, domestic orsocial, in the Bundelkhand region - had contested assemblypolls on Congress ticket from Manikpur in Chitrakoot district.
