Gwyneth met Chris at a Coldplay concert in 2002 and got married to him in 2003
New Delhi:
Actress Gwyneth Paltrow and Coldplay frontman Chris Martin have announced that they are separating. The high-profile couple celebrated their 10th wedding anniversary last year and have two children together.
A post titled 'Conscious Uncoupling' on the actress' website Goop read: "It is with hearts full of sadness that we have decided to separate. We have been working hard for well over a year, some of it together, some of it separated, to see what might have been possible between us, and we have come to the conclusion that while we love each other very much we will remain separate."
Gwyneth, who plays Pepper Potts in the hugely successful Iron Man series, met Chris at a Coldplay concert in 2002. They married on December 5, 2003.
A friend close to the couple told E!Online, "It's not a sad thing. They're two grown-ups. They're best friends. Most important are the kids and they will continue to co-parent. They're in a great place. They tried, but know this is a better way for them to be. They still love each other, but they realize it's best not to be a couple anymore."
Gwyneth and Chris are parents to nine-year-old Apple and seven-year-old Moses.
