Gwyneth Paltrow's tryst with casting couch

Gwyneth Paltrow's tryst with casting couch
London: Oscar-winner Gwyneth Paltrow was once propositioned by a movie executive while she was still a struggler in Hollywood.

Talking about her casting couch experience, the actress said the offer left her shocked, the Daily Mail reported.

"When I was just starting out, someone suggested that we finish a meeting in the bedroom, I left. I was pretty shocked," Paltrow told Elle magazine.

The 38-year-old star says she promptly rejected the offer and waited for the right opportunity which came in 1991 where she played a young Wendy in the Peter Pan movie, Hook. She later went on to win a best actress Oscar for her performance in Shakespeare in Love.

The actress, who is married to rocker Chris Martin with two children, feels dejected by the lack of variety in the roles she is offered.

"There are a lot of roles that are OK, but there's little that's really good, especially for someone my age. Sometimes you find out that something you really liked is going to someone 10 years younger.

"I find it heartening that Meryl Streep and Sandra Bullock have been able to find and create amazing projects," the actress said.
