Los Angeles:
Actress Michelle Williams saysshe had to break and remake her body in order to successfullytransform herself into Marilyn Monroe for her role in My WeekWith Marilyn.
The 32-year-old actress worked hard to transform herselfby perfecting the late screen icon's mannerisms ahead of herrole in the film, but says she needed a long time to preparefor the physical changes the part needed, reported Voguemagazine.
"Unfortunately, the weight gain showed in my face. So atsome point it became a question of, 'Do I want my face to looklike Marilyn Monroe's or my hips?'
"It felt like being reborn. It felt like breaking mybody and remaking it in her image, learning how she walked andtalked and held her head. None of that existed in my physicalmemory, and I knew I needed as much time as possible to makeit part of me," she said.
Williams also spent six months researching Monroe, studying her old movies and photographs, reading biographies, diaries, and old letters and tracking down old clips onYouTube, likening her immersion in the star to her previousexperiences of studying for exams.
"I'd go to bed every night with a stack of books next tome. And I'd fall asleep to movies of her. It was like when youwere a kid and you'd put a book under your pillow hoping you'dget it by osmosis," she said.
