Oscar-winning actress Halle Berry has been roped in to play veteran singer Aretha Franklin in a biopic.
The 44-year-old actress has been confirmed by the 'Respect' hitmaker to play the star in her older years, although no one has been casted to essay the younger Franklin, Contactmusic reported.
"Halle Berry is me for the older me and a younger actress has yet to be named," Franklin said.
The 68-year-old legend, who is currently recovering from pancreatic cancer in Detroit said that she had turn down many film offers in the past due to lack of substance.
"Yes for the last four years we've been talking about that and I've had a number of offers but unfortunately they were not good offers," she added.
