New Delhi:

The Happy New Year grand SLAM! of America included a takeover of the Twitter headquarters in San Francisco with actors Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone, Abhishek Bachchan and the rest of the cast of the Farah Khan-directed film participating in a live question and answer session on the office premises. It was, not unexpectedly, a full house. Just hours before, Team Happy New Year had made a similar pit stop at Google.

This was the very first time the cast and crew of a Bollywood film have promoted their movie at either the Twitter or Google headquarters. Twitter, in particular, has played a starring role in the Happy New Year publicity extravaganza - apart from releasing the first poster and trailers of the movie with autographed messages embedded in the video, the six actors - SRK, Deepika, Abhishek, Boman Irani, Sonu Sood and Vivaan Shah - also changed their Twitter handles to the names of the character they play in the film. Happy New Year will release on October 24, a day after Diwali.
